It's been quite a year for Canadian Juno-nominated rockers Jonas & The Massive Attraction, featuring lead singer Jonas Tomalty, long-time guitarist Corey Diabo, J.S. Baciu (Bass) and Martin Lavallee (Drums).
The band's celebrated album Big Slice is a major success in Canada, hitting Top 15 nationally on the Soundscan Sales Chart in the first week of release. The album produced three chart topping singles at Canadian rock radio, including their Top 10 hit "Big Slice", the Top 20 follow up "Seize The Day" that was mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) and mastered by legendary engineer Greg Calbi (U2). The brand new single "The Deep End" went Top 15 in July 2012, which is no small feat, considering the Cd was released on their own independent label, Big Slice Records.
Jonas & The Massive Attraction kicked off the year with great anticipation with the European release of Big Slice on February 10th, 2012, through Big Slice Records/H'Art Musik. They followed it up with a month long European tour in March and then some major summer performances, including the Harley Days Festival in Hamburg, a sold out show opening for Roxette at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam and strong performance at the Bospop Festival in Holland.
Jonas & The Massive Attraction are known for their powerful, charismatic live performances. The band has garnered a solid fan base through constant touring with the likes of Kid Rock, Seether, Hinder, Deep Purple, Van Halen and Collective Soul, including a stand-out performance to 58,000 people during the half-time show at the CFL’s 2010 nationally-televised Eastern Final at Olympic Stadium in Montreal.
Through their commanding live performance and hard work, the band is following in the footsteps of such great Canadian acts as Arcade Fire, Simple Plan and Billy Talent, who have gone on to international success.
