Yukon Blonde

Over the past two years, Yukon Blonde has earned no shortage of acclaim for its hook-heavy brand of pop rock. Frontman Jeff Innes, guitarist Brandon Scott and drummer Graham Jones first joined forces in 2005 in their hometown of Kelowna, B.C. In 2008, relocating to Vancouver, B.C. John Jeffrey was added to the line-up and they became Yukon Blonde.

Fast forward to 2012, and the band has been touring their latest EP Fire//Water, and just introduced the world to their next release. “Stairway” is the first single from the upcoming album Tiger Talk; a song that brightly elevates the band's surging arrangements. Recorded at BC's Hive Creative Labs studio with Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Ladyhawk), these new tracks are danceable and unrepentantly poppy, evoking late-'70s/early-'80s post-punk and drawing inspiration from artists like the Buzzcocks, Ramones and Talking Heads. Artistically uncompromising as ever, Yukon Blonde have already proved that they are willing to go wherever their restless artistic muse takes them. Tiger Talk will be released on March 20, 2012.
