Canadians Blast Hong Kong
Text size:

Lan Kwai Fong (LKF), Hong Kong - In a fitting climax to 3 days of music chat, the public got their opportunity to see our five great Canadian acts together at the Cavern in Lan Kwai Fong on Saturday night. DO, dd/mm/yyyy, Inward Eye, Delhi 2 Dublin and headliner Jully Black brought an eclectic and supercharged show to Hong Kong in what must have been a first for the local punters.

The streets are closed and they are literally filled to capacity as the 6 or so blocks making up LKF are crammed with locals. There was a great mix of Canadian-expats and locals at the Cavern Saturday night as our five acts charmed the audience with 4 hours of rap, pop, rock, fusion and R&B at the Canadian Blast! co-sponsored by CIMA and CMW.

Early reports from the field are that our artists and managers started to get offers the day before at the Music Matters Conference to come back to Asia to pursue more commercial opportunities. All great news!

We are really grateful to Evelyn Cream at CIMA for all her hard work in putting together a successful event, and to OMDC and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (GOA) for the financial assistance provided in support of this mission.

Thanks also to the Music Matters team for their support in HK and for putting on this first class event.
